Bracknell Forest includes the towns of Bracknell, Crowthorne and Sandhurst as well as villages such as Warfield, Binfield and Winkfield.


The area has undergone many changes since the first mention of the name Bracknell, "Braccen Heal" appeared on a 10th centry Saxon document.

 


In 1949 Bracknell and the surrounding area was selected as one of eight New Towns built within 30 miles of London to alleviate the housing crisis caused by World War II.


Now, Bracknell has a population of around 110,000 and is the home for many headquarters and major companies including BMW, Dell, Hewlett Packard, Waitrose and 3M. Bracknell town centre is easily accessible by train, car and bus...

 

From water slides to woodland walks, there is plenty to entertain the visitor to Bracknell Forest. Bracknell town centre is within walking distance of the Odeon Cinema and the Hollywood Bowl, bowling alley, both at The Point, Skimped Hill, Bracknell, visit www.hollywoodbowl.co.uk.

 

Five minutes drive from the town centre is John Nike Leisure Sport Complex with a dry ski slope, ice skating and other winter sports activities, visit www.bracknellskislope.co.uk.

 

Bracknell Forest Council also runs several activity sites around the borough. Log on to www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk for more information on these. One of these is the tranquil and recently restored Lily Hill Park with its open vistas and great dog walking.


For a taste of culture then head out of town to South Hill Park Arts Centre, which is not only home to artists and sculptures but also has a theatre, a restaurant and amazing gardens. Visit www.southhillpark.org.uk for more information.


For the more adventurous visitor to Bracknell then there is Go Ape, located just on the edge of Swinley Forest, where the high ropes come into a world of their own. Visit www.goape.co.uk for more information.

To ample away an afternoon, then take a stroll through some of the beautiful woodland surrounding the town of Bracknell or stroll through one of the Green Flag awarded parks or one of the maintained copses, full of flora and fauna.

Or use the two-tier circular steam room before plunging into the cool pool for a refreshing and invigorating feeling. Coral Reef’s changing rooms are family friendly with family rooms each with a changing table and toddler seat and individual cubicles and lockers. After your swim visit our air-conditioned restaurant and bar over looking the pool providing hot meals, snacks and drinks.

Bracknell Ski Centre is located just 45 minutes from London and has the longest artificial slope in the South East and is the premier wintersports facility in the region. It is also part of the Company which teaches more people to ski and snowboard than anyone else in the U.K. The centre is open throughout the year and offers skiers and snowboarders of all levels the facilities to practice and learn new skills. There is an active ski club and snowboard club at the centre where you can meet and learn skills from others with similar interests

You do not need to be registered disabled to use us.
